Free Online Piano
ePiano is a piano you play in the browser. There is nothing to download and no account to make: open the page and the keys work, from your mouse, your computer keyboard, a touch screen, or a MIDI keyboard you have plugged in.
Every key can show its own name, in letters (A B C) or solfège (Do Re Mi), which is the part that makes a virtual keyboard genuinely useful for learning rather than just for making noise.

Note names on the keys
Label every key with letters or solfège, or turn the labels off once you no longer need them. Useful when you are learning where the notes actually sit.
Your own MIDI keyboard
Plug a USB or Bluetooth MIDI controller in and play it through the page. See MIDI piano for setup and browser support.
A metronome
Set a tempo in beats per minute and practise against it. Playing in time is a separate skill from playing the right notes, and it is the one people skip.
The full 88 keys
Shift the octave to reach any register on a full-size piano, and go full screen when you want the keyboard as wide as your display allows.

Major, minor, pentatonic, blues and modal scales, each with the notes spelled correctly for its key and the fingering worked out for both hands.

Common questions
Which keys on my computer keyboard play which notes?
The white keys run along the middle letter row and the black keys sit on the row above, in the same shape as a real keyboard. Turn the note labels on and the piano shows you the mapping directly.
Is it really free?
Yes, and there is no signup. The scales, chords, exercises and sight reading trainer are all open without an account.
Why is there no sound?
Browsers will not start audio until you interact with the page, so the first click or key press is what switches it on. If it stays silent after that, check that the tab is not muted.
Does it work on a phone?
It does. The keys respond to touch, and you can shift the octave to reach the range you want on a narrower screen.
